A Brief History
Established as a 501 (c)(3) not-for profit corporation, the Des Plaines Community Senior Center has been providing recreational opportunities, services, and support to active seniors living in the community since 1976.  In 2006, through the generosity of Eva and Charles Frisbie, the organization acquired a new location and opened the Frisbie Senior Center.  For nearly five years, programs and services were provided at the Frisbie location as well as at the Des Plaines Park District’s Prairie Lakes Community Center.  In 2010, an intergovernmental agreement expired with the Des Plaines Park District, which resulted in all programming and services relocating to the Frisbie Senior Center, where the organization currently operates today.
